More than 100 CBC alumni and their teachers gathered under the setting Fremantle sun on Saturday evening for the annual All Ages Reunion and Alumni Recognition Awards.
The event celebrated the cross-generational brotherhood of CBC graduates and provided an opportunity to recognise the world-changing accomplishments of students after leaving the College.
Despite a 70-year difference in graduating years between the oldest and youngest attendees, shared experiences of the College provided plenty of common ground for conversation.
Many former staff of the College also returned to their old stomping ground for the evening, where they were delighted to hear of the adventures of their past pupils.
Three Alumni Recognition Awards were presented at the event, acknowledging the outstanding contributions of CBC gentlemen to making the world a better place.
Ayden Doohan ('12) received the Rising Star Award for his work as executive director of On My Feet, a running programme that helps people experiencing homelessness regain confidence and independence.
The Brother Kelly Leadership Award was presented to Nick Jenkins ('91) for his initiatives in the fields of health and sport education and his service to the community, including an incident in 2016 where Nick's leadership skills were put to the ultimate test as he coordinated the rescue effort of a surfer who was attacked by a shark.
Aldo Mendolia ('80) was honoured with the Community Award for his significant contributions to the Fremantle community, including organising the iconic Fremantle Sardine Festival for more than a decade, and more recently skippering voyages for Fishabilities, a group that brings the relaxation of fishing to those living with disabilities.
