COVID-19 update - Friday 23 April 2021

Dear Families of CBC Fremantle

It is with some disappointment I write to you about the proposed Lockdown that starts at midnight this evening and is scheduled to continue for 72 hours.

This afternoon the College Leadership Team met to discuss the potential outcomes and prepare for every eventuality. We feel the College and its community are in a good place to once again navigate the road ahead. Below is an email sent to our staff this afternoon.

Dear Staff

The WA Premier has announced that Perth will begin a three day lockdown at midnight tonight, concluding midnight on Monday.  In the event that the lockdown does continue beyond Monday, can I ask that you:

  • Take your lap top home
  • Take your recharging equipment home
  • Take any essential text books and other equipment home

These steps are a simple way for all staff to be prepared to enact our Remote T&L plan, should the lockdown be extended beyond Monday.

The Leadership Team will communicate with you should there be any updates over the long weekend.

Look after yourself, keep your family safe and enjoy the long weekend amongst your family.

In the event that the lockdown extends, we will be in touch as soon as possible to outline what comes next. Rest assured that we will get through this latest hurdle and the experiences, both good and bad, of the past have assisted in modifying and improving our Remote Teaching and Learning Plan.

I am about to prepare a video for our social media which states what I have covered in this communication. If you need to, call me on 0400 880 861. In the meantime, stay safe, positive and use the down time as positively and productively as possible.

With love

Domenic Burgio
