Cross Country is a discipline that draws on resilience and determination, and the recent House Cross Country Carnival highlighted both.
The 3.6km course around Fremantle Park was picture perfect, with the rolling emerald-green grass providing a dazzling backdrop for the tough competition.
The year group races were highly contested, with many of the top runners separated only by a photo-finish.
Patrick House topped the scoreboard throughout most of the carnival, only to be edged out at the end of the day by the boys in red. Congratulations to Morgan House, who performed consistently with integrity and spirit.
Along with many personal best performances we also need to mention the top three from all year groups. These runners blitzed the field with many setting record course times for their year groups. The full list of winners is below:
