Ms Calanni's Anzac Biscuits


  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup desiccated coconut
  • 1/3 cup caster sugar
  • 60 g butter
  • 1 tablespoon golden syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon bicarb soda
  • 1 tablespoon hot water


  1. Preheat oven to 160 ° fan forced.
  2. Line baking tray with baking paper.
  3. Sift flour into bowl. Add oats, coconut and sugar. Stir to combine and make a well in centre.
  4. Place butter and golden syrup in a small saucepan. Heat until the butter has melted, but don't let it boil.
  5. Combine bicarb soda and hot water in a small jug. Add to butter mixture and stir to combine. Add to flour mixture and stir.
  6. Roll mixture into balls and place onto tray. Use fork to flatten slightly.
  7. Bake biscuits for 13 to 15 minutes until golden brown.
