As the Class of 2023 head towards their final weeks of their CBC journey, their mums are undoubtedly reflecting on how swiftly time has passed. The Year 12 Mum and Son Reflection Evening evening served as a reminder of just how much had happened in the past six years.
The young men in Year 12 warmly welcomed their mothers to a unique exhibition, where an array of photographs spanning from Year 7 to Year 12 were showcased, invoking a sense of self-reflection and nostalgia.
These images captured various milestones, from the momentous first day with a guard-of-honour, to the jubilant and elegant moments of the recent College Ball, encompassing all the intervening years. The photographs collectively commemorated a remarkable evolution from boys of yesterday to refined gentlemen of tomorrow.
Luke Farinola, spoke to the crowd about the love he has for his mum, and thanked her for her patience and guidance over the years. Karen Simons, mother of Tate, spoke about the love she has for her son and the amazing journey he and all his friends have been through.
Principal Jenny Knox reminded the boys that their mums were alongside them every step of the way from rom infancy through childhood and into the school years. With the young men now embarking on the path to adulthood, she encouraged them not to overlook the unique and cherished role their mothers hold in their lives.
Concluding the event, mothers had the opportunity to select their favourite photos of their beloved young men to take home, savouring the profound bond they share.
